Catching up on my backlog, so this will be brief.

Games

RPGs:

  • Campaign of Night Witches kind of petered out, ah well
  • Having a lot of fun with Rich’s game of M.A.C.E. Corps, Forged in the Dark power-switcheroo MCU spy stuff.
  • Slugblaster going along nicely with the Faded Havens crew
  • Played a one-shot of the new Silt Verses game, and I can’t wait to run it.
  • Tried out Under the Autumn Strangely, very nice
  • Playtested(?) some more Alien Queen, quick and fun
  • Lancer is going great
  • Played the Bullwinkle and Rocky Role-Playing Party Game at BGG, which was delightful and silly
  • Also finally got to play Alice is Missing at BGG, not silly at all, but a pretty solid, intense hour of silent play

Video Games

  • Tried out World of Horror, a Junji Ito-inspired little rpg semi-roguelike, which has some great style, but didn’t do what I was looking for
  • Lots of Pistol Whip, still, for exercise
  • VR golf buddies as usual
  • Tried getting into Dungeons of Infinity on the Quest, but I’m too queasy for it

BoardGameGeek.Con! Saw friends, hung out and had a great time, and played a bunch of games:

  • Fine Sand
  • Last Light
  • Kolejka
  • Atema
  • U Boot
  • Hard to Get
  • Stationfall
  • Dandelions
  • Sky Team
  • Daybreak
  • Apiary
  • Echidna Shuffle
  • Space Dealer
  • ART Project
  • Freelancers
  • Mycelia
  • 3 Second Try
  • Person Do Thing
  • Oh No Volcano
  • Bonfire Party
  • Indiana Jones and the Sands of Adventure
  • Nekojima
  • (and the Rocky and Bullwinkle / Alice is Missing one-two combo)

Media

  • Loki, season 2 (not as good as season 1)
  • Lower Decks, season… 4 now? Whatever the latest is, still fun
  • Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys, it is what you think it is
  • The first half of the second season of Invincible!
  • Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix, pretty fun
  • The Marvels, thumbs up
  • The Killer (the 2023 one with Fassbender, eh)
  • Scavenger’s Reign, an amazing scifi animated series, heavily inspired by Mobius and whatnot
  • Read H.A.R.D. Corps, hoo boy
  • Started Mystery Falls why did no one tell me

Work

The new cohort is going pretty well, and we’re past the hump of javascript and react and… oh shit, we all got fired whoops.

Plans

PAXU next month!
